WELCOME to my website The Weight of Stories

Did you know that an estimated 2,700 new titles are published each day? As a novice writer, I could never have imagined the completion or the obstacles I would encounter, but perhaps that was a blessing . . .

So, why should you read my stories? What are the distinguishing factors from the plethora of others you might spend twelve to twenty precious hours reading (depending on how fast you read)?

There are many kinds of stories, and there are times when you may want a light story— one that feels good and doesn’t take much cognitive effort, and there is certainly nothing wrong with that. However, I want to share with you more than light stories— rather stories of substance and weight, that will stay with you long after you’ve read the last line, stories which will evoke deep thoughts and singular responses.

Also, as we live in a culture rapidly losing a sense of reality, it is perhaps wise to feed our imaginations on creative truth. And it is my hope that my humble efforts to be original by simply telling the truth will be one of the nine to which Lewis refers:

“Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original: whereas if you simply tell the truth (without caring two-pence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it.” – C.S. Lewis
